Dr. Anderson is the Pastor of Soldiers Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Salisbury, NC, where he has served since 2016. Throughout his forty-two years of pastoring, he has pastored six congregations and is committed to ministering to the whole person both within and outside the walls of the church building. His ministry emphasis is on disciple making and community outreach.
Dr. Anderson earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY in 1995. He earned the Master of Divinity Degree from Hood Theological Seminary in 1983. In 1975, he earned the Master of Science Degree in Community Development from Louisville, KY and the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Hampton University, Hampton, VA in 1973.
Dr. Anderson has served as a board member of the following organizations: the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce (Louisville, KY); the Uptown Homeless Shelter (Charlotte, NC); and the Mecklenburg County Human Services Council (Charlotte, NC). He was the co-founder and an officer of the following community ministries: the Ministry of Recovery, a Faith-based Relapse Prevention Program (Charlotte, NC), and the 10th Precinct Clergy & Religious Leaders Association (Detroit, MI). Currently he is serving as a Justice on the Judicial Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
Dr. Anderson is married to the Reverend Mrs. Margaret R. Anderson. They are the proud parents of four adult children (Michael, Rashana (Darrish) Barnette, Benjamin, and Adria) and four grandchildren (Arianna, Elijah, Alexandra, and Ezra).
