The 1885 Society
What: The signature fundraiser of the Hood Theological Seminary National Alumni Association (HTSNAA) with a goal of raising funds for the HTSNAA Student Scholarship Fund.
How: HTS Alumni and Faithful Friends are asked to donate $1,885.00 towards the HTSNAA Student Scholarship Fund. The HTSNAA honors those that complete the commitment and induct them as an 1885 Society “Founding Member” during the annual 1885 Society Celebration.
The “1885 Society” donations can be made in (10) installments of $ 188.50 or a one-time donation of 4 1,885.00.
**ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTABLE**
When: The annual banquet to celebrate and induct New 1885 Society Founding Members. This will be a ticketed event, which will be an additional way to raise funds to support Student Scholarships. This is a Signature HTSNAA annual event and the primary fundraiser for the Hood Theological Seminary National Alumni Association.
Who: This is a collaboration of HTSNAA, SGA and the Office of Alumni Engagement.
Why: To assist HTS students with financial resources
The Alumni Awards Program of the Hood Theological Seminary National Alumni Association (HTSNAA) is designed to recognize outstanding alumni/ae who have distinguished themselves in various ways within their profession, denomination, and community. Often, the Seminary is unaware of the unique and significant contributions made by its alumni/ae because these accomplishments are not widely distributed and therefore do not capture the attention of the Seminary or the HTSNAA.
These awards also provide an opportunity for the Seminary to
highlight the significance and value of theological preparation and
training at Hood Theological Seminary.
As alumni, partners, or friends of Hood Theological Seminary, we
encourage you to consider nominating an alumnus/alumna whose work,
service, and contributions merit special recognition. Such individuals
who appropriately qualify may be nominated for one of the following
awards:

Note:
Nominations may be submitted by alumni/ae, family members of alumni/ae,
faculty and staff of HTS, and friends and partners of HTS.
Awards Categories:
1. Alumni Award for Distinguished Service
This
award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has made an extraordinary
contribution to the life, welfare, and development of Hood Theological
Seminary.
2. Alumni Award for Excellence in Pastoral Ministry
This
award is presented to an alumnus/alumna whose pastoral work and
professional contributions reflect an extraordinary model of effective
ministry, service, and commitment.
3. Alumni Award for Community Leadership and Social Witness
This
award is presented to an alumnus/alumna whose exceptional leadership
and unique contributions to community engagement reflect genuine
empowerment, creative collaboration, and spiritual outreach.
