Veterans Education Benefits
Hood Theological Seminary welcomes veterans to our student body. We appreciate and honor your service to our country. Hood is approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency to certify students for VA benefits. The Registrar serves as the Certifying Official. Our goal is to be as helpful as possible to you. In order to meet all VA guidelines, please be aware of the following:
- You must provide the Seminary with a transcript from all institutions that you have attended after high school.
- You must complete the Hood Disclosure Form.
- You must register for classes before we can certify you.
- You can only be certified for classes in your program of study.
Certifications will be completed by the School Certifying Official after the end of the drop/period.
Please note that for any period of service that starts after 8/1/2011, the claimant has to choose which Chapter he/she wants that period counted toward. It can be used to count for only one Chapter. This rule does not affect periods of active duty that started prior to 8/1/2011. Immediate reenlistments are counted as separate periods of service.
Click the link on the left that describes you and follow the step-by-step instructions for receiving benefits.
