Hood Presents the Community Education Initiative


The Community Education Initiative is an extension of the Hood Theological Seminary’s new Messinger and Williams Family Chair in Theology and Ethics. There will be courses offered at various times throughout the year. Course topics will vary but will consistently deal with issues of faith, ethics, and community. The courses are open to the general public. The classes will be taught online and/or at the Hood campus in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Virtual Ruben L. Speaks Lecture Series


The Rev. Dr. Luke A. Powery, Dean of Duke University Chapel and Associate Professor of Homiletics at Duke Divinity School will be the speaker for the Ruben L. Speaks Endowed Memorial Lecture Series on Friday, October 2, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 3, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. These lectures will take place online via Zoom.
